Ashley Liu, BA

STUDENT and thinkSMART@home COACH
Ashley graduated from UCLA in 2021 with a BA in Psychology. As an undergraduate, she served as one of the lead research assistants in Dr.Ellis’ thinkSMART lab. In addition to her work in thinkSMART, Ashley completed her independent research study under Dr. Jennifer Silvers in the Social Affective Neuroscience and Development (SAND) lab, where she investigated the association of early life stress in the form of previous institutionalization and loss aversion in decision making. Besides research, Ashley was committed to promoting mental health on campus by working as a peer counselor in Wazo Connect at UCLA. Prior to transferring to UCLA, Ashley obtained an associate's degree in Psychology at Foothill College in 2019.
Ashley is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health in Washington University in St. Louis and plans to become a child and adolescent therapist in the future. In her free time, Ashley enjoys playing music and watching movies.
